PURPOSE: To provide a condenser for refrigerating machine which is capable of improving the condensing performance of the same by restraining the concentration of condensed liquid in the group of heat transfer tubes. CONSTITUTION: The condenser for refrigerating machine is provided with a vessel 14, into which gaseous refrigerant is introduced, and the group of heat transfer tubes 15 arranged in the vessel 14 to condense and liquefy the refrigerant through heat exchange between cooling water conducted to flow through the group of heat transfer tubes 15 and the refrigerant. One or a plurality of spaces 18 are formed along the up-and-down direction in the arranging area of the group of heat transfer tubes 15 while the refrigerant liquid is excluded through the spaces 18.
