ABSORBER WITH HIGH CAPABILITY, BASED ON STARCH HAVING EXCELLENT BIODEGRADABILITY AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Provided are an absorber with high capability, based on starch which comprises 25% or less of acrylonitrile(PAN) and has an excellent biodegradability, and a method for preparing the same. CONSTITUTION: The absorber is prepared by the steps of: (i) adding 25-50 wt.% of acrylonitrile to gelatinized corn starch and graft polymerizing the acrylonitrile and the corn starch to form a graft copolymer of starch and acrylonitrile; and (ii) hydrolyzing the graft copolymer with alkali under high liquid ratio without effecting water washing and drying procedure. Before the hydrolyzing step, the step of adding an epichlorohydrin, as a crosslinking agent, into the graft copolymer is effected.
