<p>A header processor calculates and appends an internal header and a new external header for each packet coming from the external network, each one depending on the initial external header. An intermediate storage device is provided which is configured to receive data coming from one of the networks at its data rate and associated protocol, and to forward the data to the other network with appropriate protocol and transmission rate. Independent claims are included for a method of communication in a packet network, and for the following systems or items incorporating the communication device of the invention: (a) a network; (b) a computer; (c) a copier; (d) a facsimile; (e) a printer; (f) a scanner; (g) and, a camera.</p> |
