METHOD FOR CONTROLLING VEHICLE NAVIGATION SYSTEM USING WIRELESS INTERNET AND DEVICE THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a vehicle navigation system using a wireless Internet and a device thereof are provided to use a vehicle navigation function through an opened site after connecting to the Internet using a wireless Internet terminal device of a subscriber and to calculate a fare in accordance with a rental time. CONSTITUTION: A subscriber connects to a wireless Internet and searches a site supplying a vehicle navigation function. It is checked whether a subscriber's ID is a permitted ID on the site. If the subscriber's ID is a permitted ID, all vehicle navigation functions can be used. If the subscriber's ID is not a permitted ID, a restricted vehicle navigation function can be used. It is detected whether the subscriber releases a connection for terminating a vehicle navigation function. If the subscriber does not release a connection, a waiting mode is processed. If the subscriber releases a connection, a fare is calculated in accordance with a rental time of the vehicle navigation function.
