PURPOSE: A method for improving a hand-off of a CDMA mobile communication is provided to perform a hand-off promptly by examining a pilot signal intensity between a mobile terminal and a base station. CONSTITUTION: A currently calling mobile terminal searches a pilot signal intensity of the current serving base station and pilot signal intensities of neighbor base stations and compares the pilot signal intensity of the searched base stations with a pilot signal intensity set in the current serving base station, and a hand-off access trial is started for securing new calling channel(S20). If the mobile terminal searches new pilot signal intensity over a pilot signal intensity of the current serving base station, it is decided a performance of a hand-off or not while an access channel preamble is transmitted. In addition, it is checked whether new pilot signal intensity is stronger than the minimum pilot signal intensity for performing a hand-off(S21). If new pilot signal intensity is stronger than the minimum pilot signal intensity for performing a hand-off, it is checked whether a Tx power which is a transmission electric power for examining a transmission of the access channel preamble to the serving base station from the mobile terminal is turned on(S23). If all messages being transmitted to the serving base station are access channel preambles constituted by '0'(S25), the Tx power is turned off(S28). A hand-off is performed to a neighbor base station which transmits new pilot signal intensity in an access channel slot(S29).
