A device for producing pumpable ice comprises a compressor (1) and a condenser (2) for liquefying a coolant; a vaporizer for vaporizing the liquefied coolant; an ice generator (3) formed as a vaporizer with a liquid feed for a liquid for producing pumpable ice; and a pumping machine for pumping the pumpable ice. Preferred Features: The ice generator comprises a container for the ice and the liquid required for its production, and cooling tubes containing displacement tubes forming an annular chamber. The cooling tubes have inlet supports for the liquid coolant and outlet tubes for the vaporized coolant. The outlet tubes are inserted in the coolant tubes in a gas-tight, liquid-tight and pressure-tight manner.
