<p>A loop come-off preventive step (79) is provided at the tip of a tongue(67). A loop escape face (31) for concealing the loop come-off preventive step (79) when the tongue (67) closes a hook (11) is provided on the hook outside edge extending from the hook pointed portion (27) to the top (29) of the hook. The tip of the tongue is lowered so that the height from the bottom of the needle body to the top of the loop come-off preventive step (79) of before the knitting yarn reaches the knock-over position may be less than that after it reaches the knock-over position and so that the height of the top of the loop come-off preventive step (79) at the knock-over position may be less than that of the hook top (29). Thus, knock-over is smoothly carried out without adversely influencing the condition on the feed of the knitting yarn when the fed knitting yarn is caught by the hook (11).</p> |
