The vertically sliding door is constructed from a number of horizontal panels which are hinged one to another along their abutting horizontal edges. Each panel (4) has a longitudinal recess in its lower edge to receive the upper edge of the panel immediately below. The upper edge of the lower panel has a longitudinal groove (34) in which a sealing strip (33) is fitted. This sealing strip projects above the surface of the panel on each side of the groove so that a gap is formed between the wall of the recess in the upper panel and the upper face of the lower panel.
