<p>There are disclosed embodiments of implantable fixation device for use in implant surgery, and comprising a nail device (10) having a shank (11) to which an elongate connecting element (18) can be connected, a point (12) at one end of the shank (11) for insertion into bone during implantation, a head (13) at an opposite end of the shank and drivingly engaged by an insertion instrument (25), and a threaded portion (14) provided on the shank (11) intermediate the ends thereof and operative to anchor the device to the bone.</p> |
