The toy building block system (10) has blocks (11,12) which can be fitted together and have shape stability. One of the blocks can be fitted to the other in a release fitting along different directions. The block locking section (13) has gripping shoulders (18a-18d) working with both blocks and within the shrouding curvatures of both blocks, when they are locked together. The locking section has a frame structure, with the shoulder grips.
