Two microphones (3,4) are arranged at an interval (l1) from each other on a wave-guide tube. A float (7) integrated with a sound reflecting cylinder (6), is submerged at an interval (l2) between water surface and reflecting surface. The time taken for the sonic pulse to transit the two intervals (l1,l2) are measured respectively, to calculate the distance from the microphones to the water surface. An Independent claim is included for sonic water level measurement system.
