The invention relates to a method for verifying the testing of a brake booster (2), according to which the pressure of the brake booster (2) is monitored by a pressure sensor (1), whereby the plausibility of the pressure sensor values is checked. The invention particularly relates to a method comprising the following steps: operating the brake pedal for a predetermined duration; recording the measured values of the pressure sensor in a memory; releasing the brake and calculating the difference between the last stored pressure sensor value and a previously stored pressure sensor value. A monotony test is carried out when the calculated difference and the evaluation thereof indicate that the sensor (1) has not determined any increase in the pressure sensor values or that the increase has not exceeded a diagnostic threshold value. The invention also relates to a device with which this method can be implemented.
