Production of plastic parts that may be integrated with a painted exterior surface of a motor vehicle and whose visible face is formed of a structured plastic film such that the gloss and surface impression correspond to that of the painted metal comprises use of a plastic film that is inserted in an injection molding mold and is sprayed with additional polymer onto a visible face. A process for the production of plastic parts (I) that may be integrated with a painted exterior surface of a motor vehicle and whose visible face is formed of a structured plastic film such that the gloss and surface impression correspond to that of the paint layers of the abutting metal part whereby a single layer plastic film or multilayer plastic laminate is inserted in an injection molding mold and is sprayed with additional polymer onto a visible face such that the visible face of the plastic film has a gloss and surface impression that corresponds to that of the paint layers of the abutting metal part and the spraying with additional polymer is carried out using a tool temperature that is at least 10 deg C below the softening point of the polymer material that forms the visible face of the plastic film.
