A device for applying a non-circular label (12) to a non-circular optical disc (14) includes a base (20) having an axial opening therein and a platform (24) surrounding the opening for supporting the non-circular label (12). A plunger (30) having a disc support element (32) projects from the platform (24) through the base axial opening and movable between the label (12) and the disc (14). Arms (36, 38) are provided and attached to the plunger (30) and movable therewith for contacting edges of the disc (14) and aligning the disc (14) with the label (12) on the platform (24) as the plunger (30) is moved from the first to the second position.
