<p>A papermakers dryer fabric is operable to carry a paper web on one face thereof. The fabric comprises a base substrate that is coated and optionally partially or fully impregnated with resin so as to yield a substrate having a substantially impermeable and preferably smooth surface on the paper carrying side of the fabric.</p>
