The invention concerns glass enamelling. The application of an enamel layer brings about a substantial modification in surface stresses of the glass sheet. Said modifications embrittle the sheet. In order to avoid such effects or at least to minimise them, the invention provides a treatment which consists in limiting the enamel composition curing. The inventive treatment is applicable to all uses wherein the enamelled part is subjected to mechanical loads, which is the case, for example, of enamelled zones whereon accessories are bonded.
