Selective quantitative determination of bacteria and fungi comprising applying the species to be determined to a layer of antibodies which are specific to it on a resonator and determining the change in resonant frequency due to the mass of bound species, is new. An Independent claim is included for a sensor for selective quantitative determination of bacteria and fungi comprising a resonator with a layer of antibodies on it surface, vibration generators and resonant frequency meters.
