An inexpensive Stirling refrigerating system, wherein a pair of reverse Stirling engines (3a, 3b) having worm heads (8a, 8b) heated to a high temperature by driving, cold heads (7a, 7b) cooled to a low temperature, and a piston and a displacer axially vibrating with a same frequency while maintaining a specified phase difference in a cylinder are installed in a machine room (15) coaxially with each other with the axes of the cold heads (7a, 7b) aligned with each other so as to be positioned opposite to each other, and the vibration of the piston or the displacer is caused in a same phase for the pair of reverse Stirling engines (3a, 3b), whereby a refrigerating capacity of several hundreds of watt level can be developed and vibration and noise during the operation are not felt uneasy.
