An apparatus allows one to mount a utilitarian accesory on a pair of mountin g arms on a receiver assembly. The apparatus includes a utilitarian accesory a nd a mounting assembly including a pair of posts that are connected to that accesory. The posts include mounting sections that when engaged with the accesory mounting arms on the receiver assembly define an included angle of between 1 - 45~, 5 - 45 ~ or 10 - 45~ with a horizontal plane.
