Sensor system has a sensor body placed in a pipeline. The sensor body (1) is dumbbell shaped with an intermediate part (5) sandwiched between connecting parts (3, 4). Within the intermediate part is a thin wall section with sensor surfaces (6) with sensor elements connected to the outer wall so that they do not penetrate through the wall. An Independent claim is made for a method for producing a sensor system for use in a pipeline for measuring flow values. The sensor body is made as a single part of a homogenous readily available material.
