In a first mode of the invention, an information providing database is made URL-related information, added to a URL, and opened through a communication line network. Similarly, information requesting database is made URL-related information, added to a URL, and opened through the communication line network. A computer connected to the communication line network compares information on each item in the information providing database with the information on each item in the information requesting database in ascending order priority from the item which is the narrowest and lowest concept to the item which is the widest and highest concept until the coincidence between the compared items is found. If found, a message to the effect that a combination of the items is found is announced on the Web sites of the information provider and the information requester, and the Web page of the companion is directly displayed. In a second mode of the invention, an information providing database divided into divisions is built, an information request database also divided into divisions is built, and search identifiers are defined.
