The machine comprises four heads (18) which simultaneously activate four bolts (7) for fixing a rail on a tie. The machine comprises a chassis fitted with rollers (9) which are supported on two track rails (4). The machine has a self-driven device which ensures its sequential displacement with a value corresponding to the nominal distance between the ties. There are two banks (17) of two screwing heads which are vertically movable at one end of the chassis. The distance between the two heads of one bank can be adjusted and each bank can be moved longitudinally on the chassis. Each screwing head comprises a key (34) able to be inclined to the head axis so as to allow its engagement on a bolt in the absence of a perfect alignment between the key and the bolt.
