<p>A link (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) for a sprocket-drivable link chain (10) of the kind comprising an endless loop of interconnected links (11-15), the said link comprising a pair of mutually spaced-apart side plates (16,17) removably mounted in mutually spaced relation on the opposite ends of a pair of elongate members (18,19) in use drivable by a said sprocket. The elongate members are provided by rods (18,19) extending through the side plates (16,17) which are restrained against movement apart by removable fastening means, e.g. circlips (20), engaging the protruding ends of the rods (18,19). The entirety of an endless loop chain (10) can be made up from a plurality of links (11-15) of this form thereby to render the chain (10) readily reparable in the event of failure or damage to any one link (11-15) thereof.</p> |
