Increasing production of betalactamic antibiotics in filamentous fungi by means of expression of the gene encoding cystationin-gamma-liase, where cg1A gene and enzyme have fully defined sequences given in the specification comprising introducing the gene into Acremonium chrysogenum, thus obtaining transformants presenting an increased production of beta-lactams, or more concretely cephalosporins, in relation to the parental strains, without transformation, is new.
