[Class 40 (iii)] Relates to systems in which one component of scanning is effected wholly or partly by a moving reflector 5 and the other by a rotating disc 10 having narrow slots at its periphery co-operating with a fixed diaphragm 8 having a slot perpendicular to the slot in the moving disc so as to define a point where the slots cross each other. In order to correct an error due to the finite distance between the fixed and moving slots, a cylindrical lens 7 is arranged at some point between the film 3 and the diaphragm 12. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes (1) the use of a Mechan mirror wheel in place of the reflector 5 ; (2) the use of a lens 19, Fig. 3 (Cancelled), arranged between the diaphragm 8 and the disc 10, so as to image the slot in the diaphragm directly on the disc 10 ; (3) the use of cylindrical lenses inserted in the apertures in the rotating disc and a fixed cylindrical lens in the diaphragm, Fig. 4 (Cancelled) (not shown). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.</p> |
