PURPOSE: A real-time facsimile transmission service method in an automatic response system and an apparatus therefor are provided to instantly transmit desired information to a calling facsimile in real time when a client selects that desired information is received to the facsimile after receiving desired information using the automatic response system. CONSTITUTION: After a client connects to an automatic response system(310), a real-time facsimile transmission server instructs the client to input a service code corresponding to a service for providing desired information(320). If the client inputs the service code, the real-time facsimile transmission server judges whether the client wants the receipt of a facsimile(330). If the client wants the receipt of the facsimile, the real-time facsimile transmission server judges whether a used telephone is able to receive the facsimile(340). If the used telephone is able to receive the facsimile, the real-time facsimile transmission server instructs the client to input a facsimile start command(360). If the client inputs the facsimile start command, the real-time facsimile transmission server transmits the facsimile(370).
