BACK UP ROLL SETTING APPARATUS OF TANDEM COLD MILL

PURPOSE: A setting apparatus for resting a back up roll on rail without rolling is provided. CONSTITUTION: In a back up roll(1) setting apparatus of tandem cold mill using a crane, the apparatus comprises a plurality of hydraulic cylinders(12) that are installed on a base between rails; guide rolls(10a-10g) bearing coupled between the hydraulic cylinder and a ram(11); and a hydraulic control part that controls operation of the hydraulic cylinder according to signal from computer. Further, a shock absorber is installed in the hydraulic cylinder to buffer the impact occurring when setting a back up roll.
