Process and apparatus for controlling a strength profile

In a process for controlling a strength profile, gluing of a moving paper or cardboard web is effected out with glue supplied via the surface of the web. The strength profile of the web, or a profile correlating therewith, is determined after gluing, and prior to the supply of glue to the web, a profiling treatment is performed on the web on the basis of the acquired profile, which treatment affects the glue-receiving capacity of the web. The invention further relates to an apparatus for implementing the process.
