PURPOSE:To eliminate the misregistration and convergence error of a visual image transferred from a photoreceptor drum to a transfer material without generating a loss time in an image forming device for supporting and carrying the transfer material by a belt. CONSTITUTION:Rollers 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d are arranged in parallel, and a belt 5 for supporting and carrying a transfer material is laid thereon. The parallel relation of the roller 6c is released through an actuator, and the belt 5 is forcedly slid from a standard orbit to the axial direction of the roller 6c. The slide is carried out between most biased lateral positions. A mark 5a on the belt 5 is read to detect the position of the belt 5. On the basis of the position of the belt 5 and the sliding speed of the belt 5, the sliding direction of the belt 5 is properly selected, so that a prescribed image formation is finished before the belt 5 reaches one most biased position. Thus, the carrying direction of the belt 5 is never reversed during image formation, and the readjustment of the image forming timing accompanying reversion is omitted. |
