摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a reactive power compensator to a power system by using one switching device, and furthermore, enables remote monitoring of a failure without having adverse effects on the power system. SOLUTION: A switching device 30 and a reactive power compensator 10 are connected in parallel to a power system L. Furthermore, a monitoring device 50, which monitors the state of the reactive power compensator 10 and a monitoring extension station 40 which communicates with a master station on the state monitored by the monitoring device, are provided. If a zero-phase current transformer 34 detects a grounding current on the reactive power compensator 10 side or a simulating grounding signal from a simulating grounding signal generating unit 15, an SOG relay 51 excites a tripping coil 35 to make the contactor 31 of a switching device 30 open, and furthermore if a control circuit 13 detects the abnormality of a main circuit unit 11, a monitoring extension station 40 transmits an abnormality occurrence signal to the master station to enable remote monitoring of the abnormality in the main circuit unit 11.
