PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic device capable of stably obtaining excellent image quality by arranging a preelectrifier on the upstream side in the rotational direction of a photoreceptor with respect to a static eliminator for removing a charge remaining on the photoreceptor, in an electrophotographic device using a contact electrifier controlled by a constant current. CONSTITUTION:The preelectrifier 16 brought into contact with the photoreceptor 1 through an electric conductive cloth for instance is provided on the downstream side from a transfer part 5 and the upstream side from a discharge part 7 in the rotational direction of the photoreceptor 1. The preelectrifier 16 uses developing bias supply 14 as a power source. A developing bias has the same polarity as that of a normal potential by the electrification of the photoreceptor 1. It is electrified positively in a transfer process and then, negatively by the preelectrifer 16. It is enough that the potential by the electrification at this time is negative because the photoreceptor 1 is before a discharge process. Since the photoreceptor 1 negatively electrified by preelectrification is discharged to be about 0V in the next discharge process, the potential by electrification on the photoreceptor 1 is always kept constant. |
