The hose fitting has a sleeve (1) which is open at one end in order to accommodate the end of the hose. The sleeve wall has at least one section which is bounded by a longitudinal slit (11), and which forms a clamping tongue (13a,13b). An annular slide (10) is mounted on the sleeve, and has at least one projection (31) which extends radially inwards, and which engages in the slit. When the slide is pushed from the closed to the open position, the projection reaches a region of the slit whose breadth is less than its own, and the projection causes a widening of the slit and a spreading of the clamping tongue.
