A method of increasing the amount of carbon dioxide assimilation in a spermatophyte, which comprises treating the spermatophyte with 5-[(4-chlorophenyl)methyl]-2,2-dimethyl-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)cyclopentanol or the like to enlarge the sink organ. Thus, the spermatophyte can assimilate a larger amount of carbon dioxide.
