<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for preventing ID spoofing by hackers by using ubiquitous signature certificates. SOLUTION: The method for preventing ID spoofing with ubiquitous signature certificates comprises the steps of allowing a user to access a registration server, further querying a directory to obtain information regarding the identified user when the registration server receives identification information from the user and also receives a request from the user for a new signature certificate. The method further comprises the steps of allowing the registration server to inform the user that a new signature certificate will not be issued until the old signature certificate is revoked upon the server receiving information from the directory indicating that the identification use already possesses a signature certificate, thereby preventing an unauthorized user from ID spoofing to obtain a valid signature certificate. Further, the method comprises the steps of allowing the server to inform the user that a signature certificate will not be issued upon the server receiving information from the directory indicating that the identified use is not in the directory.</p> |
