PURPOSE: An apparatus for receiving an IR(Infrared Ray) is provided to quickly transmit the response of a corresponding input device by adjusting an input device classified check conversion time of an IR input device when checking the input of the IR input device to a signal transmitted from a computer. CONSTITUTION: An IR received device(20) receives an IR transmitted from an IR input device(20) in an optical detecting unit(22). A microprocessor(24) processes the received signal and transmits the processed signal to a computer(30). The microprocessor(24) of the IR receiving device(20) receives the IR signal having information of each input device transmitted from the IR input device(10), checks whether a response exists in one input device, and sets a time necessary for being converted into the check of an other device as from a minimum 2ms to a maximum 20ms. In case of quickly setting the check conversion time of the microprocessor(24), the response of the input device transmitted to the computer(30) is quickly generated and an operation time of a system is shortened.
