PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate with a microlens array attached thereto, an electro-optical device, methods for manufacturing them, and a projection display device capable of cost reduction by using a transparent substrate other than a quartz substrate. SOLUTION: In manufacturing a counter substrate 200 (substrate with the microlens array attached thereto) of a liquid crystal device 1, recessed curved surface parts 26 formed on a surface of a first transparent substrate 20 composed of the quartz substrate, are filled with a resin 210, and at the same time, a second transparent substrate 250 composed of alumina silicate glass, having a thermal expansion coefficient equal to that of the quartz substrate, is stuck thereto with the resin 210. When the counter substrate 200 and an active matrix substrate 10 are stuck to each other with a sealing material 52, they are irradiated with ultraviolet rays from the second transparent substrate 250 side. Lights of <=360 nm wavelength, is reduced by the second transparent substrate 250. |
