PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store the initial charging date in a memory inside a secondary battery without having to conduct troublesome works. SOLUTION: The secondary battery 2 as a power source of electronic equipment (hereinafter called body device) 6 is provided with a nonvolatile storage 4. The body device 6 depends on the secondary battery for power source. A charge control means 8 watches a charging state of the secondary battery 2. A first judgment means 10 reads information stored in the nonvolatile storage 4 and judges whether it is an initial charging. A detection means 11 detects the start of charging of the secondary battery 2 or charging of the battery satisfying given conditions. The clock means 12 keeps the time. A write-in means 14 writes in a date information on the nonvolatile storage 4, when not only the first judgment means 10 judges on the initial charging of the secondary battery 2 but also the detection means 11 detects the start of charging of the secondary battery 2 or a charging of the secondary battery satisfying the given conditions.
