PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the constitution of hardware at a terminal equipment side in a VoIP telephone system. SOLUTION: In a communication system in which a main device 1 connected to an external network is connected through an LAN 5 to terminal equipment 3, the main device 1 is provided with a font ROM 15, a displayed data generating function, a font retrieving function, a bit map data generating function, and a bit map data transmitting function, and the terminal equipment 5 is provided with an LCD displayed device 31 and a bit map data receiving function. The display data are integrated into bit map data in the main device 1, and transferred through the LAN 5 to the terminal equipment 3, and the bit map data received by the terminal equipment 3 are displayed at the LCD display device as the display data.
