PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorbing body excellently durable, disposable with easy treatment, suitable for recycling, and easily installable to a bent part. SOLUTION: This sound absorbing body is constructed by filling a hard body such as a steel panel or a soft body such as a fabric bag with a granular sound absorbing material formed of an inorganic porous body or granular inorganic fiber with a grain size of 0.1-5 mm. As the granular sound absorbing material made of an inorganic porous body having closed cells, a foam glass particle, a foam coal ash particle, perlite, a shirasu balloon, expanded shale, an ALC crushed substance, one or two kinds of volcanic gravel, and the granular inorganic fiber such as rock wool granular cotton and fine granular cotton are desirable.
