PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for pretreatment for applying electroless plating to the surface of a polycarbonate molded article without discharging drainage containing harmful chromium. SOLUTION: The polycarbonate molded article is immersed in an aqueous alkaline solution and then subjected to surface treatment using an aqueous solution of hydrogencarbonate compound and ozone.
