PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper sliding piece that can reduce moment applied to a sash by wind pressure to positively perform attaching and detaching work of the sash into and from a window frame. SOLUTION: This upper sliding piece 40 has a rail arrangement groove 41 with sliding parts 42, pressure receiving parts 43 and lift-up parts 44 formed on the inner surface of the groove. The width dimension W1 of the sliding parts 42 is made slightly larger than the thickness dimension W5 of a rail so as to be guidable abutting on the rail. In the rail arrangement groove 41, the sliding parts 42, pressure receiving parts 43 and the lift-up parts 44 are formed in this order from the opening side. When a sash is bent by wind pressure, the rail abuts on the pressure receiving parts 43 to reduce moment of force. When the sash is lifted, the lower end of the rail is disposed at the lift-up parts 44, so that the sash can be sufficiently inclined to be attached/detached.
