PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate whose warpage caused when laminating a film on the substrate consisting of plastics is suppressed, and to provide a method of manufacturing the substrate and a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: On the substrate consisting of plastics, a film whose coefficient of linear expansion is smaller than that of the substrate is formed at the temperature higher than the room temperature and is subjected to heating and cooling treatments in a state of being held horizontally.
