PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ladder allowing a user to easily climb up and down even on inclined surfaces as well as on vertical surfaces. SOLUTION: In the ladder, a number of foot holds 4 are extended between right and left parallel ropes 1 and 1 with spaces from one another in the longitudinal direction of the rope 1. Footing rods 5 which separate the foot hold 4 from a wall surface 7 when the ladder is hung along the wall surface 7 are provided to protrude from both ends of each hold 4, with the pair of right and left rods 5 and 5 and each hold 4 together forming a U-shaped unit 2. Every other pair of adjacent units 2 and 2 are connected together by a connecting rod 3.
