PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weed inhibiting block joinable without any gap in its jointed part and installable around the base of a supporting column with no clearance to completely prevent weeds from growing. SOLUTION: This block is divided into two blocks 10a and 10b along a line passing the center of the supporting column 11, and the two block parts are connected together via a dovetail 12 and a tenon 13. In the part for passing the supporting column 11, a through-hole 14 having the inside diameter (shape) equal to the outside diameter (shape) of the supporting column is arranged. If necessary, a fin 15 formed of an elastic material is arranged in the inside edge of the through-hole 14.
