PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an electrode for a battery, capable of eliminating problems such as deterioration in battery safety and in a battery service capacity characteristic. SOLUTION: According to this manufacturing method of an electrode for a battery, a paste-like electrode mix coat comprising an active material is intermittently applied to a continuous core 1 for current collection and this is dried to form electrode mix parts 2. Projection thickness t of a projection part 2b around a coat-beginning end part 2a obtained by subtracting the thickness T0 of a flat part of the mix part 2 from the thickness T1 of the projection part 2b of the end part 2a of the mix part 2 is adapted to be 10 to 80% of the thickness T0 of the flat part, and the recess depth d of a recess part 2c around the end part obtained by subtracting the thickness of the recess part 2c of the end part of the mix part 2 from the thickness T0 of the flat part of the mix part 2 is adapted to be 0 to 10% of the thickness T0 of the flat part, thus preventing the thickness of the mix part 2 from becoming excessively thick or thin around the end part 2a.
