PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with excellent high-temperature characteristics by suppressing an increase in battery internal resistance in a high-temperature charging/discharging cycle test while holding high capacity. SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is characterized in that its positive electrode contains a lithium-metal compound oxide as a positive-electrode active material expressed by LiXNi1-Y-ZCoYAZO2 (where, 0<x<1.2, 0<y<=0.2, 0.02<=z<=0.09, 'A' is one or more selected from among Mn, Al, B, Ti, Mg, and Fe), wherein a peak strength ratio =(I006+I102)/I101} in X-ray powder diffraction measurement is 0.37 to 0.42, and the cumulative frequency of particles 1 μm or less in particle diameter is 2% or less when the total volume of the active material is assumed to be 100%. That is to say, the secondary battery can be provided having excellent high-temperature characteristics while holding high capacity by using the active material having the specific crystal structure and the specific particle size distribution. |
