In the method for producing the same Fe-Cr-Mn alloy having high strength and high damping capacity, an Fe-Cr-Mn alloy having a composition containing 9 to 15% Cr and 18 to 26% Mn, and the balance Fe is dissolved and produced, and the dissolved and produced Fe-Cr-Mn alloy is subjected to solution treatment so as to be water-cooled or air-cooled after heating at 1,000 to 1,150 deg.C. As a preferable mode, after the solution treatment, cold working at a rolling ratio of 15 to 80% is further performed.
