INTEGRATED CIRCUIT INCLUDING ESD CIRCUIT FOR MULTICHIP MODULE AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrostatic discharge protection of the multichip module in an integrated circuit. SOLUTION: An integrated circuit including an I/O circuit is protected or not protected against ESD damage. In the protection against ESD damage, one or more I/O circuit is selectively rendered nonoperative, operative or nonexisting. At the time of use, the integrated circuit is connected with other integrated circuit to form a multichip module and ESD protection of I/O circuit between modules is rendered nonoperative or nonexisting. It is favorable because expectation of ESD damage onto that I/O circuit is reduced when a multichip module is formed.
