PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic processing device which has a light source, a photoreceptor to receive the light emitted from the light source and reflected from a photographic film on a film carrier in order to process the image of the photographic film, a main body including at least one of the light source and the photoreceptor and is provided with a supporting mechanism to support the film carrier so as to make the photographic film on the film carrier movable between a fist position aligned to the optical axis and a second position parted from the light axis between the main body and the film carrier and which is capable of rapidly positioning the film carrier to the fist position without the degradation in the quality of print. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a stopper 111 for regulating the movement of the film carrier 10 heading toward the fist position beyond the fist position in accordance with contact. Damper mechanisms 112, 112a and 114 to attenuate the kinetic energy of the film carrier 10 heading toward the stopper are disposed between the main body 105 and the film carrier.
