<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multilayer bearing in which the adhesive strength between an aluminum based bearing alloy and a steel back plate is secured by an intermediate layer composed of an aluminum alloy so as to prevent the formation of a brittle Al-Fe based compound on the boundary between the intermediate layer and the steel back plate in solution treatment, the strength of the bearing alloy is increased, and fatigue resistance is excellent. SOLUTION: An aluminum alloy intermediate layer 3 is composed of a lower layer 5 in contact with a steel back plate 2 and an upper layer 6 in contact with an aluminum based bearing alloy layer 4, in each layer 5 and 6 of the intermediate layer 3, the lower layer 5 has a composition containing, by mass, 2 to 8% Si, and the balance Al, the upper layer 6 has a composition containing at least one or more kinds selected from >0 to 2% Mn, >0 to 2% Cu, >0 to 2% Mg and >0 to 2% Fe, and the balance Al. By solution treatment, elements such as Cu, Zn, Mg and Si in the aluminum based bearing alloy layer 4 are allowed to enter into solid solution in the Al matrix, and, by rapid cooling, its strength is increased, and its fatigue resistance is improved.</p> |
